From player to coach

  • Born January 19th 1959 in Winnipeg, Canada
  • 19 years as a hockey player for MERC (later Mannheimer Adler), 13 of them as captain
  • 180 games and 10 World Championships for the German National Team
  • 2 Winter Olympic Games
  • Two championships as a player: 1980 and 1997
  • 3 Championships as associate in Mannheim and HC Davos
  • 2 Championships as Head Coach in Lugano and Zurich
  • Member of the German Hockey Hall of Fame
  • Presently Head Coach of the Düsseldorfer EG in the DEL
  • Professional coach in my 20th season

As our hockey coach in Zurich, Harold was always very keen on establishing a team culture and letting it develop.  He gave his players clearly defined roles, which made it very motivating for us and fun to come to the rink.
